During September and October, Sydney's streets and public spaces become a canvas for artists and performers as part of our wonderful public art festival Art & About.
You can see the program of exhibitions and performances on the Art & About website and see highlights in our free pocket guide which is out now.
The festival will kick off with a party in Martin Place which the City is co-hosting with Modular music. There will be live music, pop-up bars and food trucks. We'll also be announcing the winner of this year's Sydney Life photographic competition.
Art and culture are essential for a thriving and interesting city which is why staff are developing a comprehensive policy to bring together the City's work supporting the cultural and creative industries.
We know that great cities also have great entertainment choices at night.
Lots of our Art & About events can be enjoyed after dark - whether it's a walk through Hyde Park to see Sydney Life, a look back at Sydney's past in Martin Place, or a wander through our laneways, fuelled by a delicious meal from one of the new food trucks operating in the city.
You'll find artworks in Green Square, Macquarie Street and Taylor Square, as well as pieces popping up across the city in unpredictable ways and places.
