If you are thinking about hosting live music in your pub, bar or restaurant, or even opening your own venue, the City can help.
Our free Live Music 101 seminar will equip you with practical information about the City's processes and help you learn from past success stories. At the session you can hear directly from City representatives and key industry players.
Live Music 101 will cover:
- The business benefits of live music
- How to approach programming live music in Sydney
- Engaging the music industry
- Building a brand and growing audiences
- Small business basics
- Government support for the live music industry
- Liquor licensing
- Legislative Compliance
This is just one of the ways we're supporting Sydney's live music and performance sector. The City of Sydney's Live Music and Performance Action Plan contains over 60 recommendations to boost live entertainment across the local area and we're making great progress. Already, we have started work to make City-owned properties available for rehearsal and to host more all-ages gigs in local venues.
The Live Music seminar is free but bookings are essential: https://www4.eventsinteractive.com/cityofsydney/getdemo.ei?id=308&s=_7V00KX29Y
If you're a small business owner or would like to be, but live music is not relevant, have a look at the full range of Business 101 Seminars the City runs.
The seminars are designed for both existing and budding small business owners who aren't sure where to start, or may just need some advice on how to take the next step to grow. They provide an overview of the common issues involved in setting up a small business and offer practical advice. They are also a great opportunity to ask City of Sydney staff and industry experts technical questions about DAs, licensing and other types of applications, as well as talk about grants and other support the City offers.
