Progress on our Chinatown Public Domain projects is the focus of our next Chinatown consultation on Tuesday 6 December.
The consultation will include presentations on the proposals, group discussions and the opportunity to discuss the proposals with staff.
You can hear about:
- Progress on improvements to Little Hay Street, Factory Street and Kimber Lane, due to be completed in early 2012, in time for Chinese New Year
- An overview of the next stage of works on Hay Street and Thomas Street
- Proposals to create a new public space in Chinatown and create a new arts space.
Council adopted the Chinatown Public Domain Plan last year following extensive consultations with people who live, work and spend time in Chinatown. The plan is guiding our work to celebrate Chinatown's heritage by making it greener, improving street lighting and furniture, and revitalising key streets and laneways.
- Chinatown Public Domain Consultation: Tuesday 6 December, 4.30pm-6.30pm, Holiday Inn Chinatown, corner Harbour and Little Hay Streets, Haymarket.
