Those of you who follow me on Twitter may remember that some time ago I asked you to consider donating to the heartbreaking crisis in the Horn of East Africa.
The situation there remains desperate, with the UN estimating there are 13 million drought-stricken people who urgently need help and shockingly 750,000 people at risk of dying in the next four months without an urgent increase in humanitarian aid. Many of these people are children.
The Foreign Minister has just announced that the Australian Government will match, dollar for dollar, all money raised through Horn of Africa appeals by AusAID-accredited non-government organisations from now until the end of November.
Australians have always dug deep to help those in need and I am asking you to please donate to one of the worst humanitarian crises in living memory.
