Councillor Jenny Green holds positions on a number of Council committees: she is Deputy Chair of the Cultural and Community Committee, Co-Chair of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Panel and an Alternate Member of the Central Sydney Planning Committee.
Jenny operates a learning and development consultancy and works with both public and private sector organisations in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. She has more than 25 years experience in adult learning and teaching and was a senior consultant at UTS for 15 years. Her qualifications include: B.A. Modern Asian Studies, Grad. Dip. TESOL, Master of Adult Education and Graduate, Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Jenny also has extensive small business experience, she established and operated an import / wholesale business for 6 years which involved the design and sale of products manufactured in India, China and Thailand.
Jenny is an active community advocate and supporter of small business and has a special interest in the revitalisation and diversification of retail and entertainment precincts within the LGA.
As a long time sponsor of a number of aid organisations Jenny is currently a volunteer director on the board of Trade Winds, a not-for-profit fair trade organisation that imports tea and coffee from Sri Lanka and East Timor. She is also a director on the board of the Sydney Community Foundation, an independent not for profit fund that encourages philanthropic investment in charitable Sydney based projects.
Jenny also supports her local community in Kings Cross by volunteering at the Wayside Chapel and she is an Ambassador for Bicycle NSW's Gear Up Girl Ride.
