(8am, Wednesday 17 October, Hyde Park South)
Welcome to the National Ride2Work Day Breakfast.
I'd like to acknowledge the original custodians of our land, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and pay my respects to their elders both past and present, and I acknowledge the people of the 200 nations who live in our city.
Today's breakfast is part of the Sydney Rides Festival - a two week celebration of cycling, with opportunities to enjoy our beautiful city by pedal power, a bicycle film festival, the Surry Hills Festival and much more. There's a program of events at the City of Sydney stand today - so do have a look.
I'd like to give a special mention to Bicycle Network Victoria for supporting cycling Australia-wide by running this annual event.
This breakfast is a thank you to all City workers who commute to work by bike - there's delicious food, free tune-ups, bike advice and entertainment for all.
