The Department of Education and Communities is running a series of community meetings to discuss options for creating more public high school places in the inner Sydney area.
The outcomes of the meetings, along with a needs and capacity analyses, will help shape recommendations to the Department and then to Government.
There are increasing numbers of young families in inner Sydney and the City is committed to supporting the need for improved education facilities and services to meet growing demand.
I would encourage anyone with an interest in the future of public secondary education in inner Sydney to come along to one of the meetings being held at:
- Sydney Girls High School on Thursday 29 May 2014 from 6.30pm-8.30pm
- Alexandria Park Community School on Tuesday 3 June 2014 from 6.30pm-8.30pm
- Sydney Secondary College, Blackwattle Campus on Thursday 5 Jun 2014 from 6.30pm-8.30pm
I have been calling for more high school places in the inner city for many years, however successive NSW Government's have been unwilling to make any commitment to improving the situation.
Your opinion is important so, if you're unable to make the meeting you can still have you say here http://dec.engagementhq.com
