(9pm, Tuesday 31 December 2013, Sydney Opera House)
Thank you, Tony [Cogin, MC]. Hello, everyone, welcome to our 2013 Sydney New Year's Eve.
Welcome to the world's greatest New Year's Eve, on the shores of the world's most beautiful harbour.
We're joined by 1.6 million people around the harbour, and a television audience of over one billion people world-wide for the fabulous Mombassa bridge effect and the brilliant Foti fireworks.
And the dazzling Harbour of Light Parade now under way is adding its own shimmer to the night.
Our creative team are wowing us by once again producing the most beautiful New Year celebrations anywhere!
I thank them all: our Creative Ambassador, the unique Reg Mombassa; our producer, Nye Coffey, and his fantastic team at the City; our creative agency, Imagination Australia; all tonight's performers; our Spectator Services Volunteers; and our sponsors and partners.
It's a long list, but I'm going to name them all because without them, this night simply wouldn't happen. So a huge thank you to:

And as always, special thanks to our fireworks maestro, Fortunato Foti who manages each year to dazzle us all over again.
Our Charity Partner this year is Engineers without Borders. I hope you'll support them in the magnificent work they do in places which aren't as peaceful, or as fortunate, as this.
I wish you all are very happy evening here and for 2014, a happy, peaceful and productive year. And now I'd like to invite our creative Ambassador, Reg Mombassa, to join me with a glass of de Bortoli Emeri to salute the end of one year, and the beginning of 2014.
