The City of Sydney's annual Business Awards recognise Sydney's leading businesses and on Wednesday night we will celebrate the best of the best.
Small and medium businesses make a huge contribution to the life of our villages and high streets. We have nearly 18,000 small and medium businesses throughout the City and together they add more than $40 million to our economy each year.
The popular awards celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership across 22 small business categories, including small bars, retail fashion, restaurants and cafés, cultural and creative services, tourism, bicycle businesses, health and fitness, and IT.
Now in their fourth year, the Business Awards attracted more than 800 entries and 60,000 votes to decide the finalists in each category. That's a 38% increase compared to last year.
A panel of expert judges has reviewed each of the finalists and next Wednesday night the winners will be announced at our Gala Dinner in the Grand Ballroom at The Westin.
Winners in each category will be announced along with the prestigious Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, ANZ Super Regional Award, and the Energy Australia Lord Mayor's Sustainability Award.
Previous winners like technology company Atlassian and kids wear label Oobi Baby have gone on to global success, while other winners and finalists have been able to develop a strong and loyal customer base.
The Gala Dinner has been a sold out event for the last three years. If you are a finalist or would like to attend the event, book now to avoid disappointment.
