Councillor Robert Kok is a practicing lawyer and advocate for Sydney’s Asian communities.
Since being elected to Council in 2008, Cr Kok’s support for the Chinatown Improvement Plan has assisted in revitalising this historic area into a world renowned attraction and business hub.
Building on his understanding of Australia’s diverse Asian communities and the international business environment, he is committed to further strengthening the relationship between Sydney and Asia.
He was a former chair of the Australia Chinese Community Association, a charity organisation providing home and community care programs.
Robert currently chairs the City of Sydney’s Chinese New Year Festival, now the largest celebrations outside China.
He is also a member of the Panel of Advisors for the University of Sydney China Studies Centre and a Governor for WWF-Australia.
