A new pedestrian link in Erskineville will make it easier for residents to move between Sydney Park and St Peters station.
We are planning to use a narrow strip of City land between the Zenix Apartments and Sydney Park Village to extend an existing footpath and connect Coulson Street to Sydney Park Road.
The link will also feature seating, additional lighting and be landscaped in a way to ensure it will not affect nearby private properties.
The pedestrian link will provide access between the properties so residents don't have to walk around the block to get to Sydney Park.
This work is part of our Liveable Green Network which aims to provide links connecting parks, streets and transport to make it easier for people to move around the City.
The concept design for work on the path will be on public exhibition until Friday 28 October 2011.
I invite you to join me at 11am on site in Coulson Street on Saturday 15 October to discuss the project look at what we are proposing. You can also view and comment online at http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
