Supporting Books in Homes

Last Friday I joined students and teachers at Plunkett Street Primary school to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Books in Homes. Books in Homes provides new books to children and families who may otherwise not be able to afford them. It is a fabulous program that gives primary school aged children the opportunity to develop a love for reading.

Since 2001, Books in Homes has distributed more than one million new books to more than 110,000 children from 290 schools and communities around Australia.

This is a significant achievement and I commend all the volunteers and sponsors for their support of the program. Books in Homes is a non profit organisation which welcomes financial donations and volunteers to ensure the support of as many children as possible.
