Sydney by-election on October 27

The by-election for the state seat of Sydney will be held on Saturday 27 October.

It's vital Sydney remains independent. The O'Farrell Government has overturned your democratic choice and sacked me midway through the Parliament's term. The Coalition already has 69 out of 93 seats in the Legislative Assembly, let's make sure they don't get another backbencher who just follows party direction.

I have endorsed Alex Greenwich who I believe is a strong independent candidate who will work hard for the Sydney community. Alex is a resident of Potts Point, runs a small business and is a community activist.

His campaign is already underway, with Alex meeting many Sydney electorate residents over the past week. You can find more information about his campaign, offer to help or make a donation at http://alexgreenwich.com/

I strongly urge you to get behind his election campaign and help keep Sydney independent. As a fellow independent, I know Alex doesn't have access to the huge pools of funding the major parties draw on. He needs your support.

Information about the by-election including the hours and location of polling booths and the process for postal and pre-poll voting will be available from the Elections NSW website, www.elections.nsw.gov.au over the next few weeks.
