The inaugural REMIX Sydney summit was held at Carriageworks this week, bringing together hundreds of creative leaders and decision makers from around the world to discuss how culture, technology and entrepreneurship can help the creative industries grow.
The City is a national partner of REMIX and I was pleased to help open the summit on Thursday morning. Starting in London in 2012, REMIX is also being held in New York, Hong Kong and Dubai this year. It features talks, debates, masterclasses and panel discussions on topics including how to build creative cities, developing new business models to grow the cultural economy, and finding new audiences for creativity.
The Sydney event was a great opportunity for local businesses and entrepreneurs to learn from the experiences, challenges and opportunities of others in the creative economy. It also allowed some of our brightest creative minds to showcase Sydney's innovation and growing reputation as a leading artistic and creative hub.
