The Sydney Rides Business Challenge has been a huge success. There are still a few days to go, so it's not too late for you to sign up, take part and log your rides.
Businesses are some of the strongest supporters of our work to make riding a safer, easier option for people. There's no doubt that bikes are good for business, good for staff morale and good for the local economy.
This Wednesday around 50 riders took part in in the first ever Sydney Suit Ride through the CBD.
Executives and staff from the Hilton Hotel, the Heart Foundation, JLL, Lend Lease, Maurice Blackburn lawyers, Scott Carver architects, AECOM, Atlassian, and the NSW Office of Finance got on their bikes to show that riding is a great option.
They are just some of the 4,200 employees from 288 organisations taking part in the Challenge.
With findings from the City of Sydney, the NSW Government are currently building separated cycleways in south Castlereagh Street and Liverpool Street. We will continue to advocate for the College Street cycleway to be retained until a full-time, safe, separated cycleway is opened along the entire lenght of Castlereagh Street.
I'm very proud of the investment the City has made in the past, and will continue to make in the future, to offer people more transport choices.
