The City will soon begin asking local communities which unique characteristics of their village centres they want to protect, retain or improve.
We see village centres as sustainable places for communities to meet, make, learn, work and shop - and we want to develop plans that make sense in each local area.
The City's draft corporate plan, currently on public exhibition, allows for developing the local action plans, which will play a major role in putting our Sustainable Sydney 2030 plan into practice.
People will be invited to share their ideas at community festivals, Good Neighbourhood barbecues, major project launches, bike and car share exhibitions and Christmas concerts.
The City's face to face consultations with residents and businesses will be complemented by extensive opportunities to participate online.
