There are serious concerns in the community about Alexandria.
Already gridlocked, WestConnex threatens to funnel tens of thousands more vehicles through the area and the growth in surrounding neighbourhoods is increasing traffic congestion.
In response to residents' concerns, I asked for an independent study of traffic in Alexandria, with a focus on the local traffic impacts of the St Peters Interchange – part of WestConnex – on surrounding areas.
We have identified a number of ways that we can reduce the impact of through traffic and preserve local streets and neighbourhoods in Alexandria, Erskineville and St Peters.
The traffic study is now available and we'll be taking feedback from the community until 1 June 2018. More information here:
