(9.15am, Sunday 21 October 2012, Pirrama Park, Pyrmont)
I'd like to acknowledge the original custodians of our land, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and pay my respects to their elders both past and present, and I acknowledge the people of the 200 nations who live in our city.
Congratulations to everyone who has taken part in today's ride, and enjoyed Sydney by bike, from North Sydney, across the Harbour Bridge and onto this beautiful Park - or for those taking the Classic Ride, out to Olympic Park.
I'm sure everyone would agree that we live in a spectacular city - and what better way to see it than by using pedal power.
Today marks the mid-point of the Sydney Rides Festival. With more than 30 events happening over two weeks, it's Sydney's largest celebration of bike riding, with workshops and fun for everyone, from the novice rider to the more experienced.
Pick up a program from the City of Sydney stand today and find out what's on over the next week.
I'd like to extend a big thank you to the team at Bicycle NSW for putting on such a fabulous event today, and also thank the Sydney Rides Festival sponsors, 2DayFM and the Sydney Morning Herald for all their support.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Keep cycling!
