Can you count Sydney?

Would you like to be paid while helping your community?

Every five years, the Census counts Australia's population, giving an insight into how we get to work, who we live with and whether we rent or own. It happens this year on Tuesday 9 August.

It is a vital tool for governments, policy makers and non-government organisations, and it is important that up-to-date and accurate information is captured. The Australian Bureau of Statistics tells me it is having difficulty finding inner city Census Collectors and has extended the application period. Collectors are paid to deliver, collect and help people understand the forms, and are essential to the success of the Census.

To help count inner city residents and visitors, you need to be available from 1 July to 8 September and can expect to earn between $1300 and $2800 for this casual, flexible position.
