Last night I hosted the annual CitySwitch Green Office National Awards in Sydney Town Hall.
Congratulations to the Royal Autombile Club of WA who are the CitySwitch National Signatory of the Year, Wallmans Lawyers who are the CitySwitch New Signatory of the Year, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, WT Sustainability, J Goddard & Co, and EXED who won the CitySwitch National Partnership of the Year.
CitySwitch is helping businesses make big savings in greenhouse gas emissions and running costs. The program now covers more than two million square metres of commercial floor space - over 12 per cent of all office space in Australia.
There are 473 offices taking part by making a commitment to improve their energy efficiency, with a target of a 4 Green Stars or above using industry-recognised tool, NABERS Energy.
This is important work that is reducing our contribution to climate change, and I am proud of the City's role as a founding partner of City Switch.
