The City of Sydney's brightly coloured deck chairs are now back in Sydney Square, Wynyard Park, Paddington Reservoir Gardens and Sydney Living Museums on First Government House Place (Bridge Street).
The deckchairs are complemented by tables and umbrellas, crates of free books on hand to read, and free Wi-Fi at Sydney Square and Sydney Living Museums.
This is the third year of our successful 'Chairs in Squares' program, inspired by a similar program in New York City. Last year thousands of people took time out to enjoy the deckchairs.
Due to the program's success, we've expanded it to the Museum of Sydney, with Sydney Living Museums, putting eight additional deckchairs on the museum forecourt.
At Paddington Reservoir Gardens, the chairs are accompanied by Arena Calcetto's fussball table installation, which is in place until October 20 as part of Art & About 2013. Direct from the 2012 Venice Biennale, it's a chance to work your table soccer prowess.
I hope the deckchairs encourage you to stop and linger, soak up the sunshine, chat to friends and enjoy the city's architecture and spectacular skyline. Chairs in Squares will be open until Friday 4 April 2014.
