Will you stand with residents of Euston Road against this threat to their health and future?
When: 12:00PM, Saturday 22 April
Where: Outside of the apartments, corner Euston and Sydney Park Roads, Alexandria. The walk from St Peters station is just over ten minutes.
Speakers: Lord Mayor Clover Moore, State MP Dr Mehreen Faruqi, WestConnex Action Group's Rhea Liebmann and Euston Road resident Paul Davies
While people are increasingly aware of the destruction of our beautiful, award winning Sydney Park to make way for the WestConnex St Peters Interchange, not everyone knows the flood of cars will continue to pour down Euston Road, McEvoy and Lachlan Streets through to Anzac Parade, devastating the lives of many local residents.
To carry an extra 30,000 cars and trucks per day, the government plans to widen these streets into a seven lane highway bringing the noise and diesel fumes dangerously close to homes.
We have been working hard behind the scenes to push back on these impacts on our local roads. And we stand by our opposition to WestConnex as a waste of money that will benefit no one but the big businesses building and tolling it.
Please join us and stand alongside residents of Euston Road and surrounds this Saturday 22 April.
