(8pm January 31 2012, Australian Museum, College Street)
I'd like firstly to acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of our land, and to pay my respects to their Elders. I also acknowledge the people of the 200 nationalities who live in our wonderful city.
Welcome to the third season of Jurassic Lounge (10 weeks).
22,000 people came to the earlier seasons.
People are now enjoying the 45 small bars that we have here in the City. As well the City has had a great response to our plan for late night haute cuisine food trucks.
Whilst people turn out in their thousands for Festival First Night.
So I think we can agree that Sydney is becoming a much more interesting and happening city.
Well done to the Museum and to Frank Howarth and his committee for giving us Jurassic Lounge - a very cool venue, cool music, magic lighting and fascinating things to look at and do.
