One of the first things I did when elected in 2004 was save the former Water Police site from development and turned it into the stunning Pirrama Park.

We’ve upgraded Pyrmont Community Centre, built the popular Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, upgraded Quarry Park, revitalised Harris Street, added new landscaping to city streets, built a separated cycleway and are campaigning strongly against the relocation of the Powerhouse Museum.

The City of Sydney is powering and our record is compelling:

  • A strong financial position with no debt

  • $1.2 billion invested in the last 10 years on infrastructure and facilities

  • $1.8 billion planned and budgeted for new capital works – including community facilities, more open space and revitalised playgrounds and street upgrades

  • One of the fastest-growing residential areas in Australia backed by our world leading design excellence program.

Your vote is important

As Lord Mayor since 2004, I lead an Independent Team of residents and business people active in our communities and experienced in city government.

Our Team stands for leading action on climate change, beautifully designed community facilities, more parks, playgrounds and open space, sustainable development, support for our arts and culture and an inclusive and equal city. We’ve kept residential rates amongst the lowest in NSW and we offer free rates to pensioners.

We want to continue our work in Pyrmont – don’t risk the future of your neighbourhood with an inexperienced and unstable City Government controlled by the big old parties.

Elections for the City of Sydney Council will be held this Saturday 10 September 2016 and I am running again to keep our City independent, community led and progressive.
