Tomorrow night, the Herald will hold a public meeting on tackling violence in Kings Cross.
It's free entry at the Lower Town Hall from 6pm - we need a strong turnout to get action on this critical issue.
We've done the research, we know what needs to be done, we just need to get on and do it.
The City's been making changes in Kings Cross for two years. We have 30 different actions underway, such as late night ambassadors in the peak summer period. However, we have limited power when it comes to the big issues.
We need the State Government to provide public transport late at night and give the City of Sydney the power to refuse development applications for more licensed venues in areas that are already saturated.
Tomorrow night, I will join Federal MP Malcolm Turnbull, AHA chief Paul Nicolaou and other key leaders - with the panel taking questions from the floor and from Twitter using the hashtag #safersydney.
When: Tuesday, July 17 at 6pm
Where: Sydney Town Hall - Lower Town Hall, 483 George St, Sydney (Druitt St entrance, opposite Queen Victoria Building)
Send your questions for the panel and RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org using 'safer sydney' in the subject line.
