Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Panel – set up in 2008 – told us about the importance of self-determination, truth telling and justice for the community, as well as the need to take action. It was deeply disappointing when the Prime Minister rejected the idea.

In June, Council unanimously endorsed my Lord Mayoral Minute calling for constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and support for the recommendations in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
