It appears the State Government is doing everything it can to buy back the greyhound racing industry, when we should be putting an end to this cruel and bloodthirsty sport – and returning Wentworth Park to the people of Sydney.

,

This is on top of an additional half a million dollars pledged to the industry a few weeks ago, to provide prize money at the ‘world’s richest greyhound race’ at Wentworth Park, and early plans to build a new track in NSW.

,

The NSW Government has committed to $700,000 to upgrade the track in Goulburn, providing a home just across the border for the Canberra racing club after the industry was banned in the ACT earlier this year.

,

Just 2 years after then Premier Baird’s commitment & subsequent reversal to end greyhound racing in NSW, the industry has been handed another taxpayer-funded boost. The announcement was made yesterday amidst the diversionary crisis in Federal Parliament.https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/aug/24/nsw-gives-700000-to-greyhound-industry-two-years-after-aborted-ban
